The M25 motorway in Surrey has been closed in the clockwise direction between Junction 9 (Leatherhead) and Junction 10 (Guildford) following a serious road traffic collision and subsequent vehicle fire. The closure has led to significant disruption for motorists in the area.

Diversion Routes: Drivers are advised to follow the hollow square diversion symbol displayed on road signs. The recommended diversion route is as follows:
- Exit the M25 at Junction 8 onto the slip road towards the ‘Reigate Interchange’ roundabout.
- Take the 3rd exit onto the A217, heading towards London.
- At the A240 Burgh Heath traffic signals, turn left onto the A240 towards Kingston.
- At the A24 Ewell roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A24 towards Central London.
- Continue to Organ Crossroads and follow the A240 towards Kingston.
- At the A3 ‘Tolworth Interchange’, take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto the A3 towards Portsmouth.
- Follow the A3 until you reach the M25.
- Take the exit slip at Junction 10 (‘Wisley Interchange’) and take the 3rd exit at the roundabout to rejoin the M25, heading towards Heathrow.
Motorists should be aware that there is a height restriction of 15ft 3 inches at the A240 Tolworth railway bridge.
