A man and woman have been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a post office inside Morrisons Daily on Windsor Drive, Chelsfield. The incident occurred just after 8:30 am on March 22, prompting an immediate response from armed police.

Although no arrests were made at the scene, a subsequent Metropolitan Police investigation has now led to the charging of two individuals.

Sarah Selby, 37, of Lower Road in Orpington, and Karl Kaynar, 41, of no fixed abode, have each been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery at the Morrisons Daily and the post office located within the store. Both have also been charged with possessing an imitation handgun.

Kaynar faces an additional charge of robbery, as it is alleged he stole money from the post office during the incident.

Selby appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (September 26), where her case was transferred to Croydon Crown Court for a plea hearing. Kaynar was due to appear alongside Selby but his case was adjourned due to unexpected circumstances.
