Metropolitan Police detectives have charged a man in connection with the murder of a man who was fatally shot in Waltheof Gardens, Tottenham, on Tuesday, 15 October.
The suspect, Mahmut Sahindal, 56, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 17 October.
Sahindal was arrested shortly after the shooting on Tuesday. Police responded to reports of gunfire in Waltheof Gardens, N17, and attended the scene with London Ambulance Service. Despite the best efforts of emergency crews, the victim, who suffered a gunshot wound, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s family has been informed of the development and continues to receive support from specialist officers.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are continuing their enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
