Police have confirmed the death of a man following a road traffic incident on Gregson Avenue, Gosport. The tragic crash occurred yesterday morning when the man’s vehicle veered off the road and collided with a house in Harwood Close.
The man, in his 30s and from Gosport, was driving a silver Jaguar XKR at approximately 8:20 am on Thursday, October 17. Despite the swift response of emergency services, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the man’s family has been informed and is currently being supported by specially trained officers.
A police spokesperson stated: “An investigation is underway to understand the exact circumstances of the collision. As part of this, we are keen to hear from any witnesses who saw the Jaguar in the moments leading up to the collision, as it travelled along Wych Lane before turning onto Gregson Avenue at the roundabout, or the incident itself.
The police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage capturing the route or the crash. Those who can assist are urged to call 101, quoting reference 44240451466.
