Hampshire Police are investigating a series of recent burglaries and car break-ins across the Stubbington and Gosport areas. The incidents, which took place overnight on November 3 into November 4, have left residents on high alert as officers work to identify those responsible.
The incidents under investigation include:
- Nicholas Avenue, Gosport: A burglary between midnight and 5:30 a.m. on Monday, November 4, in which rings, cash, and airsoft equipment were stolen.
- Gosport Road, Stubbington: A burglary that occurred between 12:25 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. on November 4, where jewellery was reported stolen.
- Village Close, Stubbington: A home was burglarized overnight on November 3, with a purse stolen, and a car on the driveway was searched, though nothing was taken from the vehicle.
- Further car searches in Village Close: Two additional reports of cars being entered and searched, with nothing stolen, also occurred in the same area overnight.
- Northways, Stubbington: At approximately 3:30 a.m., a man with a torch was spotted peering into a car; however, the vehicle was not entered.
Police are conducting targeted patrols in the affected areas as part of Operation Inquisitive and are urging residents to ensure that doors, windows, and vehicles are securely locked.
