Police have launched an attempted murder investigation following a violent assault on a passenger aboard the 59 bus in Brixton. The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, at the junction of Brixton Road and Loughborough Road.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police responded to reports of an assault on the crowded bus. Upon arrival, they established a crime scene and remains on guard at the location.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service treated the injured passenger at the scene before transporting them to hospital. The extent of the individual’s injuries has not yet been disclosed.
A cordon has been put in place while investigators examine the area. The motive for the attack remains unclear, and authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service have been contacted for further details.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 10.36am this morning (Thursday 21 November) to reports of a medical incident at the junction of Brixton Road and Loughborough Road, Brixton.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer. “The first of our crews arrived in three minutes. “Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to hospital as a priority.”
A Spokesman for the Met Police said: Police were called at approximately 10:20hrs on Thursday, 21 November to reports of two men fighting on a route 59 bus in Brixton Road, SW9.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.
One of the men was taken to hospital for treatment – condition awaits.
The other man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken into police custody.
At this stage it is not thought any weapons were involved but enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
