A 25-year-old man, dressed as Batman, has been disqualified from driving for a year after fleeing police following a drink-driving collision in Tidworth.
Lewis Blondrage, of Aliwal Barracks, crashed his vehicle into a telegraph pole on Meerut Road on 19 November 2024. Instead of remaining at the scene, Blondrage fled into the darkness, sparking a chase involving local residents and multiple police units.
Arrest and Conviction
Police, including a dog unit, quickly contained the area and apprehended Blondrage. He failed a roadside breath test and was taken into custody, where a blood sample confirmed he was over the legal alcohol limit.

On 4 December, Blondrage appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court, where he was found guilty of:
- Drink driving
- Failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision
The court handed him a 12-month driving ban and fined him £600.

A spokesperson for the local policing team said:
