Today, family, friends, and supporters from around the world are gathering to say goodbye to Joules Smith, a six-year-old girl from Minster whose courageous battle with incurable brain cancer captured hearts worldwide through her viral TikTok videos.
Joules, described by her parents as “the bravest, kindest, most beautiful little girl,” passed away on December 9, just weeks before Christmas. Her funeral is being held today at noon at the Garden of England Crematorium in Bobbing.
A Celebration of Life
Her father, Joe Smith, shared the family’s wishes to give Joules the send-off she deserves:
“We hope everyone can make it and everyone is welcome. We want to give that little girl the best and biggest send-off because that is what she deserves.”
In a fitting tribute, Joules’ tiny coffin was drawn by a horse-drawn carriage as it left the Island, symbolizing the love and admiration her community holds for her.

A Life That Inspired Millions
Joules was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer in May, after her parents noticed symptoms during a family trip to Center Parcs with their friend and TV personality, Kirk Norcross. She was later given her diagnosis at London’s King’s College Hospital.
Determined to make her final months as joyful as possible, her parents, Joe and Elisha, embarked on a mission to fill Joules’ days with unforgettable experiences. They were supported by an outpouring of love from people across the globe, many of whom joined the viral #DancingForJoules campaign, sharing videos of themselves dancing to raise awareness of childhood cancer.
An Outpouring of Support
The campaign not only raised awareness but also generated significant financial support, with a fundraising page collecting over £90,000 in donations to assist the family and support cancer charities.
In an emotional TikTok update, Joe expressed the family’s gratitude:
“Joules has been an absolute inspiration to everyone, and I am proud to be her dad, as is Elisha, her mum. We take so much comfort in knowing she inspired and touched the lives of so many people around the world.”
Continuing Her Legacy
Joe has asked supporters to keep the #DancingForJoules movement alive as a tribute to his daughter.
“If you are going to do anything, please let us carry on dancing for our beautiful little Joules because I know she will still be dancing.”
Today’s service is not just a farewell but a celebration of a young life that, though tragically short, left an indelible mark on countless hearts. Rest in peace, Joules, a shining light whose memory will continue to inspire kindness and courage around the world.
