A man who passed away in Redditch on Christmas Eve has been named by his family as 39-year-old Marcus Meade. His family, friends, and the community have come together to remember the life of a beloved father, brother, and friend.

Marcus’s younger brother, Jahziah, has launched a fundraising campaign to help cover funeral costs and establish a lasting memorial for Marcus. In a heartfelt message on the GoFundMe page, Jahziah described Marcus as an “incredible person” with a “kind and selfless soul.”

“Those who knew Marcus will know what an incredible person he was,” Jahziah wrote. “He was one of the kindest souls you could ever meet. His bravery and selflessness were unparalleled—he even apprehended Rose’s killer in Centenary Square, Birmingham, for which he was awarded a medal of bravery.”

Marcus leaves behind two young children and a family devastated by his loss. He was set to celebrate his 40th birthday next year and was deeply involved in his children’s lives. Jahziah expressed the family’s desire to create a space where loved ones can gather to honor and celebrate Marcus’s life.

The fundraising appeal aims to cover funeral expenses, a headstone, and a memorial site. The family has expressed gratitude for any contributions, with Jahziah adding, “Any amount, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and help us give Marcus the farewell he deserves.”

Messages of support and condolences have poured in from across the community, with many sharing memories of Marcus’s kindness, bravery, and love for his family.
