A 21-year-old woman, identified as Teddi Baker, was found unconscious at a home in Stainsby Road, Limehouse, earlier this month. Despite emergency services being called to the scene, she was pronounced dead shortly after 8:26 am on Thursday, February 8.

Police are still awaiting further test results to determine the exact cause of death, but detectives believe the tragedy may be linked to a fight involving six people in the Dod Street area, near an alleyway leading to Limehouse Cut canal, the previous evening. The altercation is believed to have taken place between 10 pm and 12:30 am.

Murder Arrest and Police Appeal

A woman in her 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Sufia Matin, leading the investigation, has urged witnesses to come forward:

“We are urging anyone who has any information or who may have witnessed a fight in the Dod Street area of Limehouse/Poplar during the times stated to contact us immediately.”

Ongoing Investigation

Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to potential witnesses as they try to piece together the events leading up to Teddi’s death.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Metropolitan Police by calling 101 or reporting online. Alternatively, anonymous reports can be made via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

More details will follow as the investigation continues.
