A man who fatally assaulted a clubber outside a Walsall nightclub has pleaded guilty to manslaughter, Wolverhampton Crown Court has confirmed.
Kejuan Malone, 33, of Osprey Close, admitted to killing Kevin Taylor, 51, during a violent incident in which he punched the victim multiple times, causing him to fall and suffer fatal injuries.
The court heard the attack took place outside the venue during an altercation, and the resulting injuries led to Mr Taylor’s death.
Malone appeared in court on Monday (14 April), where he formally entered his guilty plea to one count of manslaughter. He has been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing, which is scheduled to take place on 12 May.
Investigation and Response
West Midlands Police launched an investigation immediately following the incident, gathering witness statements and reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
Kevin Taylor’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A spokesperson for the force said:
“This is a tragic case where a man’s life was taken far too soon. We hope today’s plea brings some comfort to Mr Taylor’s loved ones as they continue to grieve.”
