A woman has been jailed after a drink-drive collision near Tamworth claimed the life of her passenger. Chloe Bannister, 29, was sentenced to two years in %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% following the fatal crash on Coppice Lane on 15 November 2023.
Bannister, who was found to be almost 1.5 times over the legal alcohol limit, %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% control of her car late at night, veering off the road and crashing into a field. Her passenger, a 33-year-old man from %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%%, sustained critical injuries and tragically died the following day in hospital.
