A woman is in a life-threatening condition after a serious single-vehicle crash on the A36 near Deptford in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, 27 May).

According to Wiltshire Police, the crash occurred around 1:15am when a white Ford Mondeo travelling southbound lost control as the road transitioned from single to dual carriageway. The car rolled and came to rest in the central reservation.

Emergency services responded promptly, and a woman in her 40s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her current condition remains critical.

Road Closure and Ongoing Investigation

The A36 remains closed in both directions between Deptford and Fisherton de la Mere, with the closure expected to last until lunchtime as investigators continue their work.

Wiltshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) is leading the enquiry and has issued an urgent appeal for witnesses.
