Staffordshire Police have named the woman found dead at a Newcastle property earlier this year as Barbara Pawelczyk, aged 36.

Officers were called to a home on Cresswell Avenue shortly before 10am on Saturday, 2 January, following reports of a woman’s death. Upon arrival, they confirmed the tragic discovery.

A 55-year-old man from Newcastle was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and perverting the course of justice. He has since been released on police bail as investigations continue.
