A woman in her late 20s or early 30s was allegedly snatched and forced into a white Ford Transit tow truck on Millharbour Road near the Lighterman’s Road junction on September 30.
Police acted fast, arresting a 42-year-old East London man the very next day on suspicion of kidnap. He has now been released on bail as the investigation continues.
Police Launch Urgent Appeal for Kidnap Witnesses
Detective Inspector Grant Stevens is urging anyone near Millharbour Road, E17, at the time to come forward.
“We’re desperate to understand what happened and remain seriously concerned for the welfare of the young woman who has not yet been identified,” Stevens said.
“If you saw anything suspicious or have CCTV or phone footage, please get in touch.”
