A mum has been locked up for more than four years after a chilling cruelty campaign against a young boy in her care. Siann Cawley, 27, from Fleetwood, repeatedly burned the boy — not her own child — with a cigarette and forced him to eat dog food over three terrible weeks.
She didn't stop there. Cawley also locked the boy alone in a room for hours while she left the house, neglecting him utterly.
Four Years Behind Bars for Heartless Mum
Cawley faced Preston Crown Court where she admitted assault, ill-treatment, neglect, and abandonment charges. She was sentenced to four years and three months in prison and is currently held at HMP Styal in Cheshire.
Dark Patterns of Abuse Continue to Emerge
This case draws grim parallels with other child abuse horrors. Back in 2018, Dakota Bruce was convicted for burning a boy's feet with a lighter and battering him — despite previous convictions for harm against the same child.
The boy suffered burns, bruises, and a brain bleed. When questioned, he confirmed the relentless abuse, exposing a tragic cycle of violence.
