A Sri Lankan man wanted in France for allegedly raping a child has been arrested in Liverpool, the National Crime Agency (NCA) confirmed.
Man Caught by Extradition Unit
Sujanth Ketheeswararasa, 30, was detained by officers from the NCA’s National Extradition Unit in Liverpool city centre on Wednesday. French authorities have accused him of raping a young girl.
Extradition Proceedings Underway
Mr Ketheeswararasa appeared in a London court on Thursday where he was remanded in custody. He is set to appear via video link at Westminster magistrates’ court on 27 November. The full extradition hearing is scheduled for 26 March 2026.
