Dominic Lowe, of West Royd Drive, was sentenced today at Bradford Crown Court, after admitting his role in the supply of 35 kilos of cocaine.
%%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% officers attempted to stop a Volkswagen Golf on Moor Top Road in Bradford on October 5. The car failed to stop and was seen driving dangerously on the wrong side of the carriageway at speeds in excess of 70mph in a 30mph zone. It also went around a roundabout the wrong way.
The car was later found abandoned on Cross Lane, Shelf, near %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%%, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the high-purity cocaine.
An investigation led by Programme Precision detectives, %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% Yorkshire Police's programme aimed at tackling serious organised crime, identified that Lowe was responsible for handing over the cocaine to the driver of the Golf prior to its failing to stop.
Speaking after today's sentencing, Detective Sergeant James Gross, of West %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%% Police's Programme Precision team, said: "Though the driver of the Golf is yet to be identified, our investigations established that Lowe played a key role in supplying the cocaine which would have been distributed across the Bradford area.
"I'm pleased that the sentence handed down today appropriately reflects the severity of his role in the enterprise. Class A drugs are a blight on our communities and, through Programme Precision, %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%% is determined to tackle the organised criminals who are behind this illicit trade."
