The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said fifteen fire engines were called to the blaze on Wood Lane at 3.08am on Saturday morning, underscoring the severity of this fire event at BBC TV Centre Wood Lane.

Flames are affecting the upper floors of the building, including a restaurant, external decking and ducting. An unknown number of residential flats may also have been impacted by the ongoing BBC TV Centre Wood Lane fire.

Evacuations Underway

The Brigade confirmed that residents are being evacuated as a precaution, working closely with Metropolitan Police and other emergency partners. A rest centre is being set up to provide temporary shelter for those displaced by the unfolding situation at BBC TV Centre Wood Lane.

Firefighting Response

Crews from Hammersmith, North Kensington, Kensington, Chiswick and surrounding stations are on scene. Two 32-metre turntable ladders are being used as water towers to attack the blaze from height as part of the ongoing response to the BBC TV Centre Wood Lane incident.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said:

“The fire is affecting several floors towards the top of the building. Our crews are working extremely hard in challenging conditions alongside our partners to bring the situation under control and keep people safe.”
