A busy stretch of Kingsland Road in Hackney was closed for several hours this afternoon following a serious collision between a car and a cyclist.
The incident occurred around 2:10 pm at the junction of Bentley Road and A104 Dalston Lane (Dalston Junction), leading to major %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% disruptions in the area. Kingsland Road was partially closed from %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% Road to Dalston Lane as emergency services responded and crash investigators worked at the scene.
The cyclist was taken to the hospital, and authorities later confirmed that they are in a non-life-threatening condition.
Emergency Response
A Metropolitan %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% spokesperson said:
Police were called at about 2.10 pm on Friday, February 21, to reports of a collision involving a car and cyclist on Kingsland Road in %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%%.
Emergency services attended. The cyclist was taken to hospital. We await an update on his condition.”
The London %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%% Service also responded promptly. A spokesperson said:
"We were called at 2 pm today (February 21) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Bentley Road and Kingsland Road, %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%%.
We sent an ambulance crew to the scene and treated a patient before taking them to hospital as a priority."
By 7:20 pm, Kingsland Road had reopened, and traffic flow began returning to normal.
