A delivery driver has been stabbed and robbed in broad daylight in Greenwich, prompting a police appeal for witnesses as officers hunt those responsible.

Emergency services were called shortly after 5:30pm to reports of a stabbing in Blissett Street, SE18. On arrival, officers found a man suffering from stab wounds.


He was being treated by firefighters from nearby Greenwich Fire Station later being  treated at the scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital. His current condition has not yet been confirmed.

The victim, believed to be a delivery  driver, was reportedly attacked by suspects who then stole parcels from his vehicle. The incident occurred in the middle of a residential area, leaving locals shocked by the violence.

A police cordon is in place while forensic teams examine the scene. No arrests have been made so far, and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:

“Police were called shortly after 17:30hrs on Tuesday, 25 March to reports of a stabbing in the vicinity of Blissett Street, SE18.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and a man was located with stab injuries – he has been taken to hospital for treatment where he remains. A condition update awaits.

A crime scene remains in place at the location. No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances continue.”

The attack has raised concern among local residents, particularly those who work in delivery and courier services, who fear for their safety while on duty.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, seen suspicious activity in the area, or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
