Barthimaus Ehiemere, 25, has been locked up for 18 years at Snaresbrook Crown Court for a string of horrific sexual offences against children. The Hackney resident was also handed four years on licence and must register as a sex offender for life.

Shocking Crimes Uncovered

In a terrifying case, Ehiemere was found guilty of 15 charges after a jury trial on 31 July, on top of 32 offences he had already pleaded guilty to. These included multiple rapes, sexual assaults, and making indecent images of children. His victims were seven boys aged between 12 and 16.

Online Grooming and Exploitation

  • Ehiemere first came under police surveillance in September 2020 during an online grooming probe.
  • Officers raided his Hackney flat and seized devices, finding he used Snapchat and Spotafriend to groom boys.
  • He bribed victims with gifts, money, and compliments to send indecent images, which he sold to other offenders.
  • Six victims across the UK came forward, revealing some had been seriously sexually abused as young as 12 years old.

Police Launch Appeal for More Victims

Detectives arrested Ehiemere again on 28 October 2024 and found more incriminating evidence, including proof of a seventh victim aged 12.

“Following Ehiemere’s sentencing, detectives are appealing for any further victim-survivors to come forward,” police said.

They urge anyone who suspects their child had contact with Ehiemere on Snapchat or Spotafriend to get in touch. Victims can report online or call 101 quoting Op Teigar for support and to help build the case.
