Former Metropolitan Police officer David Carrick, a convicted serial rapist, has been slammed in court again. He was found guilty of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl and raping a former partner, with offences stretching back over 30 years.

Latest Convictions Uncovered at Old Bailey

At the Old Bailey, the 50-year-old, already behind bars serving a life sentence, faced justice for further shocking crimes. The jury heard how Carrick molested a girl in the late 1980s and later raped a woman during a relationship more than two decades on.

After five hours of deliberation, jurors unanimously convicted Carrick on nine counts, including:

  • Five counts of indecent assault against a girl under 16 between April 1989 and August 1990
  • Two counts of rape against a woman between December 2014 – April 2016 and again from January to December 2019
  • Sexual assault against the same woman in 2019
  • Coercive and controlling behaviour towards the same woman from 2016 to 2019

Already Serving 32 Years for 71 Sexual and Violent Offences

Hailing from Stevenage, Carrick is currently locked up with a minimum 32-year term for 71 offences spanning a 17-year crime spree. Today he is due back in court for sentencing over these fresh convictions.

Hertfordshire Police praised the victims for their bravery in coming forward and urged anyone affected to seek support. The trial revealed Carrick abused the girl for around 18 months until she confided in her mother.
