Two floors of a semi-detached house on St Denys Close in %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% collapsed following a fire that broke out last night. The incident prompted a response from four fire engines and approximately 25 firefighters.

The %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%%, which started just off england/pampisford/”>Pampisford Road, severely damaged most of the building. The first and second floors on the right-hand side partially collapsed, leading to a 25-metre %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%%cordon being established for safety. Around 20 residents from nearby properties were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

 

 


A man managed to exit the building prior to the arrival of the %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%% and was subsequently taken to hospital by ambulance.

The alarm was raised at 6.02pm, with the fire brought under control by 8.42pm. Fire crews from Purley, wales/Wallingtonwallington-wales/”>Wallington, %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%%, and Woodside were involved in the operation.

The %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%% has stated that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
