A funeral service is set to take place to remember and pay respects to 15-year-old Elianne Andam, who tragically lost her life in a stabbing incident in Croydon. Elianne was attacked on her way to school at 8:30 am on September 27, in Wellesley Road.
Her family has fondly remembered her as a “beautiful” and “funny” girl who had a wide circle of friends who adored her.
The funeral is scheduled to occur at the New Life Christian Centre in Croydon from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on November 11.
The procession will commence from the family residence on Derby Road, shortly after 9:30 am. It will then proceed along London Road, up Poplar Walk, turn right onto Wellesley Road (which will be temporarily closed to traffic), and continue down George Street, and Church Street. A brief stop will be made at Old Palace School along the way before reaching New Life.
Members of the public who wish to pay their respects to Elianne will have the opportunity to line the route of the funeral procession.
Please note that the funeral service and reception are strictly by invitation, and the burial will be reserved for family members only.
For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed on the New Life Croydon website starting at 10:30 am.
The assailant, reportedly wearing a mask and gloves, removed a large knife from his waistband and repeatedly stabbed Elianne before fleeing the scene. Despite efforts by others to administer first aid, Elianne could not be saved.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder and possession of a knife in connection with the incident. He is set to face a murder trial in the spring. The arrest took place in New Addington at 9:45 am on the same day as the tragic incident.
Elianne’s untimely death marked the 16th homicide of a teenager in London this year.
