Investigation Findings
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that after a significant period of resuscitation efforts, they were ultimately halted, and the girl was pronounced dead. Mr Irvine stated, “The death was referred to a specialist team at the Metropolitan Police Service who treated the scene as a scene of a crime, taking photographs and gathering evidence.”
He further noted that police, after reviewing all evidence, found no signs of criminal activity and subsequently referred the case to the court.

Mr Irvine indicated that he was required to open an inquest due to the “unnatural” nature of the death. A full inquest is provisionally scheduled for March 2026. He has designated Hadil’s family as interested parties in the inquest and requested information regarding her history in supported accommodation and any concerns they may have regarding her death.
The proprietors of the supported living accommodation have also been made interested parties in the inquest. Additionally, Mr Irvine requested an interim update from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) concerning any investigations related to her death.
