A heartbroken mum is grieving her "beautiful baby girl" after her eight-year-old daughter died following a shocking accident at school.
Olivia-Grace Huxter suffered a sudden medical episode at Penrhys Primary School in Ferndale, Rhondda, a small school with just 99 pupils. She was rushed to hospital but tragically passed away days later.
South Wales Police are investigating Olivia-Grace's sudden death but say there are no suspicious circumstances. The exact cause will be confirmed after a post-mortem.
Mum's Tearful Tribute to 'Beautiful Baby Girl'
Olivia-Grace's devastated mum, Melanie, opened up about her loss:
"My beautiful, beautiful baby girl, I can't eat, I can't sleep without you. I'm so grateful I was able to hold you and sing you to sleep one last time with your favourite bedtime song. You were wanted, admired and absolutely adored by everyone lucky enough to have known you. I don't know what life will look like now. I love you to the moon and back twice."
The family described the tragedy as a "freak incident" and insisted no one is to blame.
Community in Shock as School Reopens
Penrhys Primary shut immediately after the incident but reopened today. Headteacher thanked parents for their support, posting on Facebook:
"Due to the traumatic event that happened at our lovely school this afternoon, we will be closed for all children tomorrow. School will be open for children and staff again on Friday."
Local councillor Julie Edwards urged everyone to steer clear of speculation while police continue their inquiry.
Family and Friends Share Emotional Tributes
Olivia-Grace's aunt Adrianne paid a moving tribute online:
"Words can't express how broken I feel right now. I keep wanting it all to be a nightmare and for someone to wake me up. I am going to miss your smile, your cuddles, your kisses and most of all us dancing in the kitchen. Fly high beautiful angel and rest in peace."
The community remains stunned by the sudden loss of such a young life.
Police Confirm No Suspicious Circumstances

"Emergency services were called to Penrhys Primary School just after 2pm on Wednesday, October 8, following reports of a medical episode. The girl was taken to hospital where she later died. There are no suspicious circumstances, and an investigation on behalf of the coroner is now under way."
