A man accused of a terrifying mass stabbing aboard an LNER train has been hit with new charges, including attempted murder of a teenage boy.
Anthony Williams Faces Fresh Attempted Murder Charges
Anthony Williams, 32, from Peterborough, is now facing two additional counts of attempted murder alongside previous charges from violent incidents on board trains and in London.
The shocking attack took place earlier this month on a packed LNER service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross, where passengers fled in panic, hiding in toilets. A brave train crew member tried to stop the rampage.
Williams was already charged with 11 counts of attempted murder linked to the Huntingdon attack and a separate, earlier assault in London.
New Charges Reveal Shocking Details

- Attempted grievous bodily harm of a 28-year-old man in Peterborough on October 31
- Affray and carrying a blade related to an incident at Ritzy Barbers

- Assault on a 31-year-old man aboard a train between Hitchin and Biggleswade on October 31
BTP Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy said: “These are a significant set of new charges. We’ve worked closely with Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service to bring these charges.”
Heroes Step Up Amid Horror
Train worker Samir Zitouni, 48, has been hailed a hero. The LNER staffer, critically injured while defending passengers, has thankfully been discharged from hospital.
Nottingham Forest football fan Stephen Crean, 61, also showed bravery. After Williams confronted him asking, “Do you want to die?”, Crean was stabbed six times but fought back and locked himself in a toilet until police arrived.
Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander praised the quick thinking of rail staff and emergency responders, stating: “Their actions undoubtedly saved lives. It was a privilege to thank them for their heroic work.”
Public Urged to Stay Alert
Williams remains in custody as investigations continue. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
