A man and a woman have been charged with assault after a baby boy was found unresponsive and critically injured at a property in Seacombe, Merseyside.
Incident Details
Merseyside Police were called to a house on Percy Road at around midday on Sunday, 24 November, following reports of concern for the infant’s welfare.
The baby boy was rushed to the hospital, where medical staff discovered injuries to his body. His condition remains critical.
Charges
Klevi Pirjani, 36, and Nivalda Santos Pirjani, 33, both of Seacombe, have been charged with:
- Causing grievous bodily harm
- Section 18 wounding with intent
Court Proceedings
The pair appeared at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court earlier today, where they were remanded into custody. They are scheduled to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 23 December.
Police Statement
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said:
“At about midday on Sunday, we were called to a property on Percy Road to reports of concern for the child. The infant was taken to hospital to be assessed where injuries were found to his body. The boy’s condition is described as critical.”
