A man and a woman have been taken to hospital following a serious crash at the junction of Romford Road and Green Street in Newham this afternoon.
Emergency Response
London %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% Service (LAS) confirmed they were called to the scene at 2:58 PM and dispatched two ambulance crews to assist the injured parties. Both individuals were treated at the scene before being rushed to a local hospital as a priority.
A spokesperson for %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% stated:
"We were called at 2.58pm on Thursday, 6 %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% to a road traffic collision at the junction of Romford Road and Green Street, Newham. We sent two ambulance crews to the scene who treated a man and a woman before taking them to a local hospital as a priority."
Road Closures and Investigation
%%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%% Road was temporarily closed while emergency crews dealt with the incident. The road has since reopened to %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%%.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the extent of the injuries sustained by the victims. Metropolitan %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%% have been contacted for further information regarding the cause of the crash and whether any arrests have been made.
