A man has been charged with manslaughter following a deadly attack in Southwark last September.

Disturbance Ends in Tragedy

Police were called to a disturbance involving a group of men at 2:55am on Saturday, 13 September. Emergency teams rushed to the scene with the London ambulance-service/" title="Ambulance Service" rel="nofollow">Ambulance Service. A man was found with serious injuries and taken to hospital.

Victim Dies, Suspect Charged

Tragically, the victim, Michael John Edwards, 43, from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, died in hospital on Wednesday, 17 September. His family is receiving support from specialist officers.

Lewis Macleod, 36, from Sunderland, appeared at Inner London crown-court/" title="Crown Court" rel="nofollow">Crown Court on Monday, 13 October. He is charged with manslaughter, after initially being charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

Trial Date Set

The trial is set to begin at Inner London Crown Court on Monday, 13 April 2026.
