Police have arrested a 59-year-old man from Hove following a string of sexual assaults targeting women exercising along the seafront.
Nine Sexual Assault Charges
Fattah Derrahi, of Farm Road, Hove, faces nine counts of sexual assault. The attacks are alleged to have happened between August 2023 and October 2025 in the Hove Lawns area.
Victims reported being approached and assaulted, often in the morning during or immediately after their workouts.
Court Appearance and Police Response
Derrahi appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 15 November, and was remanded in custody. He is set for a hearing at Lewes Crown Court on 10 December.
“I know these reports were concerning for the public, and I would like to thank everyone who came forward with information to support the investigation,” said Detective Inspector Sharon Ford.
“We will continue to conduct proactive patrols in the area as part of our ongoing commitment to protecting women and girls in Brighton and Hove.”
