A man, identified as 59-year-old Zbigniew Wasiak, was discovered dead after a house fire in Fletton, england/peterborough/”>Peterborough, at approximately 3:35 AM on Sunday, 11 September 2025. Authorities have confirmed that Wasiak died from a stab wound to the neck.

Four Arrested on Suspicion of Murder

Four individuals are currently in custody following the incident. Two men, both aged 35, were arrested earlier in the Weekweek on suspicion of murder. Subsequently, a 29-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, both from Peterborough, were also taken into custody.

Investigation Underway

A joint investigation by the police and fire service has determined that an accelerant was used to ignite the fire. Detective Inspector dale/”>Dale Mepstead from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit stated, “We are still in the early stages of our investigation and part of the initial enquiries will be to establish why the fire was started at his home.”

The police are appealing for anyone with information, particularly those living near Wootton Avenue, to come forward if they observed anything suspicious around the time of the incident. Mepstead reassured the community, saying, “I understand this is likely to be concerning to the local community, but we believe it to be an isolated incident, and we have extra patrols in the area.”
