A man in his 50s has tragically died after being hit by a lorry on the M25 near Orpington earlier today (December 18).
The incident occurred on the clockwise carriageway near junction 4 at approximately 9:45 AM. Emergency services, including officers from Kent Police, responded to the scene. Despite their efforts, the man was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.
Investigation and Next Steps
Kent Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident. A file is being prepared for the coroner, and the man’s next of kin have been informed.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said:
“Kent Police was called at 9:45 AM on December 18, after a pedestrian was struck by a lorry on the clockwise M25 near junction 4. Officers attended, along with other emergency services, and a man aged in his 50s was confirmed deceased at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Traffic Disruption
The motorway was closed for a significant period to allow emergency services to deal with the incident and conduct investigations. However, it has since been reopened, and traffic is returning to normal.
