A man has been jailed as part of an ongoing murder investigation after a 36-year-old woman was found dead in a Hammersmith flat earlier this month.
Police Respond to Reports of Forced Entry
Officers were called to Coulter Road, Hammersmith, at 10:13 AM on February 9, following reports that a man was attempting to force entry into a flat.
Upon gaining entry, officers discovered a 36-year-old woman who had sustained a suspected head injury. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect Arrested and Jailed
A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
While investigations into the woman’s death continue, the suspect has since pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon and has been sentenced to 42 weeks in prison.
However, he has been bailed in relation to the murder charge, as police continue their inquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Ollie Stride, who is leading the investigation, expressed condolences and reassured the public:
*”We are saddened to hear about the loss of this young woman and are working to ensure that her family are informed and supported by specialist officers as soon as possible.
I understand the impact this incident will have had on neighbours and the community, and we are doing everything we can to investigate the circumstances.
Although we have made an arrest, we still need to have an understanding of what took place that night in Coulter Road.
