A door supervisor has been convicted after being caught working with a suspended licence at a popular Cambridgeshire venue.
Amadu Tavares was on duty at No6 Cocktail Bar in %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% on 10 May 2024 when Cambridgeshire Police carried out licence checks on door staff. Officers discovered his licence had been suspended a month earlier by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) on 10 April 2024.
Tavares %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% to attend two interviews under caution arranged by SIA investigators in July 2024.
He later appeared at %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% Magistrates' Court on 15 January 2025, where he pleaded guilty to offences under Section 3 of the Private Security Industry Act 2001, which prohibits engaging in licensable security work without a valid licence.
Tavares was fined £200, ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge, and £280 in prosecution costs, bringing the total penalty to £560.
