A man has been charged following a serious assault outside a Sainsbury's store in Tunbridge Wells, which left a victim with significant head injuries.

Kent %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% confirmed they were called to the scene at around 7.22pm on Sunday, 27 April 2025, after reports of a violent dispute over a parking space in the Sainsbury's car park on St John's Road.

It is alleged that during the argument, a man punched another man, causing serious head injuries. The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Arrest and Charge

Later that same evening, officers arrested a %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% in connection with the incident.
Troy Firth, 32, of Ellenborough Road, %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%%, has now been formally charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH).

Firth appeared before %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%% Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 29 April, where he was remanded in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for 27 May at %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%% Crown Court.

A spokesperson for %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%% Police said:

“This was a serious assault which left the victim with significant injuries. We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has further information to contact us.”

Public Appeal

Kent Police continues to appeal for witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam or mobile footage of the incident to come forward and assist with the %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_6%%.
