Donald Trump has declared the US-led strike on Venezuela “an assault not seen since World War Two.” Speaking live from Mar-a-Lago, Trump boasted about the military operation against Nicolas Maduro’s stronghold in Caracas.
Blitzkrieg on Maduro’s Fortress
Trump said the assault involved “air, land and sea,” targeting a “heavily fortified military fortress” at the heart of Venezuela’s capital. The mission’s goal? To bring the “outlaw dictator” Maduro to justice. Trump called it “one of the most stunning, effective and powerful displays of American military might” in history.
Maduro Captured, Shipped to US Warship
Moments ago, Trump shared a picture of Maduro in US custody aboard the USS Iwo Jima. The Venezuelan leader, now a prisoner, is reportedly en route to New York to face narco-terrorism charges. A DEA agent stands guard in the snap, confirming Maduro’s capture.
Opposition Leader Declares “Hour of Freedom”
Venezuela’s opposition star Maria Corina Machado, who fled the country last year, hailed Maduro’s downfall. She declared on social media that “the hour of freedom has arrived” and insisted Maduro “faces international justice” for his crimes. Machado urged Edmundo Gonzalez, considered Venezuela’s legitimate president-elect, to step in and promised the release of political prisoners.
“We have fought for years, we have given everything, and it has been worth it,” she said. “What had to happen is happening.”
