The music world is mourning the loss of US rapper and hype man Fatman Scoop, who has passed away at the age of 53. His talent agency, MN2S, confirmed the news of his death.

Fatman Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman, achieved global success and is best known for his 2003 hit “Be Faithful,” which topped the UK Singles Chart. He was also a familiar face to UK audiences, having appeared on Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother: UK vs USA in 2015, where he was the third housemate to be evicted.

The artist tragically collapsed on stage during a performance in Connecticut on Friday, August 30, and was rushed to the hospital, where he later passed away.

In a statement, MN2S expressed their sorrow, saying, “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear friend and client, Fatman Scoop, at the age of 53. Scoop was a beloved figure in the music world, whose work was loved by countless fans across the globe. His iconic voice, infectious energy, and great personality made an indelible mark on the industry, and his legacy will live on through his timeless music.

The statement continued, “Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans during this incredibly difficult time. Scoop’s vibrant spirit, boundless enthusiasm, and passion for music will always remain in our hearts. He will be deeply missed.”

Sharron Elkabas, one of the founders of MN2S, also shared her grief, saying, “I spoke to him just a few days ago, and he was in such good spirits. It’s hard to believe he is no longer with us.”

Fatman Scoop’s powerful voice and dynamic stage presence made him a unique and unforgettable figure in the music industry. His sudden death leaves a void that will be felt by fans and fellow artists alike.
