A Wakefield man has been locked up for a string of horrific sex crimes against a young girl.
Guilty on Multiple Counts
Christopher Ackroyd, 32, was found guilty at trial in August. The charges against him include:
- One count of attempted rape
- Four counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity
- One count of sexual assault of a child under 13
- One count of causing a child to watch a sexual act
- Witness intimidation
All offences reportedly occurred earlier this decade.
Heavy Sentence Handed Down
At Leeds Crown Court on October 16, Ackroyd, of Wasdale Road, was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Nine years cover the sexual offences, with an additional one year for witness intimidation, served consecutively.
He was also slapped with a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
