A woman has died after being struck by a car in North West London this afternoon in an incident now under police investigation as a suspected hit-and-run following a failed stop.

The fatal collision occurred shortly before 3:10pm at the junction of Booth Road and Falcon Way, NW9. According to the %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%%, the car involved had driven away from a police vehicle shortly before it struck the pedestrian.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, including %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% officers who began providing immediate medical care to the woman before paramedics arrived. Despite the efforts of the London %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% Service and London's Air Ambulance, the woman was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for the %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%% said:

"We were called at 3.08pm today (25 March) to reports of a road %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%% collision on Grahame Park Way, NW9.

We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, a clinical team manager and an incident %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%% officer. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene."

Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle failed to stop. The car was later found %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_6%% nearby, and police are actively working to trace the occupants. No arrests have been made at this time.

A police cordon remains in place around the scene, with road closures continuing into the evening as forensic officers carry out investigations.

A spokesperson for the %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_7%% said:

"Shortly before 15:10hrs on Tuesday, 25 %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_8%% a car was in collision with a female pedestrian in Booth Road, junction with Falcon Way, NW9.

The car had driven away from a police vehicle prior to the collision taking place.

Officers provided treatment to the woman prior to the arrival of %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_9%% Ambulance Service. However, despite the efforts of the emergency services the woman died at the scene.

The car did not stop but was found abandoned a short time later. %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_10%% is ongoing to locate the occupants of the car.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue."
