Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded swiftly to reports of a fire in an outbuilding in Northfleet, Gravesend, this afternoon.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at 5.06pm, prompting the dispatch of three fire engines to the scene. Firefighters worked efficiently, using a main jet hose to tackle the flames and bring the fire under control.

A water safety unit was also deployed as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the crew and surrounding properties.

The fire was successfully extinguished by 18:42, with no reported injuries. Fortunately, nearby structures were unaffected, and firefighters managed to contain the blaze to the outbuilding.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and an investigation will be carried out to determine what sparked the incident.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has reminded residents to maintain fire safety practices in and around outbuildings, particularly during colder months when heaters and other electrical equipment may be in use.
