The family of a five-year-old boy who tragically died in an incident in Windstar Drive have paid tribute to him as a “beautiful young soul who will be missed every day.”
Emergency services, including police officers and medics, were called to the address shortly after 3pm on Sunday, 15 December, following reports of serious concerns for the welfare of a child and a woman.

Young Victim Named
Essex Police have today confirmed the boy’s identity as Lincoln Button, a Year 1 pupil at Bonnygate Primary School in South Ockendon, part of the Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust.
Lincoln’s family described him as:
“A cherished, loved, sweet, beautiful young soul who was adored by all and will be sorely missed every day.”

The school added:
“His love for school, laughter, and cuddles will be remembered and missed dearly. We are working closely with the authorities and being supported by Thurrock Council’s education team to help those within the community come to terms with this tragic loss.”

Police Investigation
Essex Police confirmed that the woman at the scene was taken to hospital for treatment, where her condition improved. He added:
“At the heart of this investigation is the death of a young child, with a family now facing unthinkable pain. I urge the community to refrain from speculating on the circumstances and to give Lincoln’s family the space they need during this difficult time.”
