Chaos on Thames Way
Police were called just after 1pm when Warrington was seen running into traffic and smashing a car window. Officers arrived quickly, handcuffed him, and strapped him with leg restraints before loading him into a police van.
Health Takes Sudden Turn
Shortly after being placed in custody, Warrington’s condition worsened. Officers returned him to the van to rush him to hospital. Despite CPR from police and medical staff, he was pronounced dead around 2.35pm.
Investigation Underway
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched a probe into the incident and Kent Police’s handling of it. They have secured hospital CCTV and officers’ bodycam footage. All officers present are being treated as witnesses. www.uknip.co.uk/where/united-kingdom/england/london
