A lorry burst into flames on the B255 in Bean near Bluewater shopping centre this morning, causing significant disruption in the area.

The incident occurred just before 8:00 AM on Thursday, November 21, on the approach to a roundabout near the popular shopping destination.

Fire and Smoke Seen from Afar

Images from the scene show the HGV engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky, visible from a considerable distance.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that four fire engines and a bulk water carrier were deployed to tackle the blaze.

Traffic Disruption

The fire has led to delays, with reports of traffic at a standstill in the vicinity. Officers from Kent Police implemented a road closure to allow fire crews to manage the situation safely.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said they were alerted to the fire at 7:44 AM.

Public Advice

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while emergency services continue to deal with the aftermath.
