A major crash on the M25 has led to the closure of the anti-clockwise carriageway between Junction 10 (A3) and Junction 8 (Reigate), causing significant disruption expected to last throughout the day.

According to Surrey Police, the incident occurred just before 11.50pm on Sunday when a lorry struck the central reservation and came to rest sideways across the carriageway.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but the damage to the road surface has necessitated extensive repairs, leading to a prolonged closure.

At 11:00am on Monday 6th Januaru 2025 all four lanes will be closed for up to five hours, while the road is resurfaced.

Traffic is being diverted onto the A240 and the A217.
