A man has been taken to hospital following a violent altercation on Woolwich New Road, prompting a swift response by Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service.
The incident occurred shortly before 9:40pm on Friday, 30 May, when emergency services were called to reports of two men fighting in the busy SE18 high street area.
Officers arrived to find a man with injuries to his arm, who was treated at the scene and then taken to hospital. His injuries were later confirmed as non-life-threatening.
One Man Arrested
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“Police were called at 21:41hrs on Friday, 30 May to Woolwich New Road, SE18 following reports of two men fighting.
Officers attended and a man was located with injuries to his arm. He was taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A man was arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in custody.”
