In a shocking case of abuse, Frank Greco, 59, has been sentenced to 20 years in jail at Swindon Crown Court for repeatedly abusing a 93-year-old woman. Due to his guilty plea, he will serve 14 years and four months in custody, followed by five years and eight months on licence. Greco has also been classified as a dangerous offender and will be placed on the sex offenders’ register. Additionally, he is subject to a sexual harm prevention order.

Greco, who was employed to deliver meals to vulnerable individuals, initially denied any wrongdoing but changed his plea after incriminating evidence was presented to him. He pleaded guilty to attempted rape, assault by penetration, and five counts of sexual assault.

The abuse occurred in March and April 2022, but it only came to light when the victim’s son raised concerns about footage captured on CCTV cameras installed in her home for safety purposes. Wiltshire Police were immediately notified, and further investigations revealed the full extent of Greco’s crimes.

Due to the victim’s dementia, she was unable to report the abuse she endured, making this a particularly heinous betrayal of trust. Detective Inspector Rachel Hardy, the senior investigating officer, described Greco’s actions as the ultimate betrayal of trust. She acknowledged the enormous impact of his crimes on the victim and her family and commended their dignity throughout the harrowing ordeal.

The investigating team expressed gratitude to the victim’s family and extended their thoughts to them during this difficult time. Wiltshire Police has provided information on their website about the support available to survivors of rape and sexual assault.
