A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a collision with a van on Sheering Road near Harlow.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 12:45pm on Saturday (April 12), after receiving reports of a serious road traffic collision.

Essex Police responded alongside crews from the East of England Ambulance Service and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance. Two ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle were dispatched.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported by road to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further care. His condition is described as serious but stable.

The road was temporarily closed while emergency services worked at the scene and carried out early investigations, causing some traffic disruption in the area. It has since reopened.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said:

“We were called at 12.45pm to a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a van on Sheering Road near Harlow.
The motorcyclist, an adult man, was transported by road to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a serious condition.”

Essex Police confirmed that officers remained at the scene into the afternoon and have urged any witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage from the area to come forward to help with their ongoing investigation.
