Late Sunday evening, Maidstone, Kent, witnessed a significant multi-agency response following an attack on three police officers with a white noxious substance.

Upon arrival, teams, including a Detection Identification and Monitoring (DIM) unit, were deployed to investigate the substance involved and ensure the safety of the area. Pedestrians have been advised to avoid the vicinity while investigations are ongoing.
The attack occurred just after six in the evening, following a domestic dispute involving a man, according to initial reports. Cordons have been established, preventing residents from returning to their homes until the area is cleared of any potential danger.
Currently, five fire engines, a DIM unit, hazardous areas response teams, and three ambulances remain on the scene, supported by five police cars stationed in Knightrider Street. Concerned members of the public are urged to steer clear of the area, with drivers advised to seek alternative routes.
Witnesses reported seeing paramedics wearing specialist respirators, while one individual was observed being led away in handcuffs.
A spokesperson for the Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed their involvement, stating, “KFRS was called at 5.53 pm today to assist Kent Police in Knightrider Street, Maidstone.
Two fire engines attended, as well as a hazardous materials unit.
